First snow of the year
Sometimes I get branded as a ‘big kid’. I don’t mind this, and I often lean into it. But one thing will instantly bring it out… SNOW.
It’s such a magical substance. I feel so happy as soon as it snows. It makes everything more beautiful in my opinion.
We’ve had our first snow of this winter hit Dartmoor this week. Sadly I was feeling poorly so couldn’t make it too far to enjoy it. However I don’t do well staying indoors for 24 hours a day, so I combined my need for fresh air with the opportunity to visit a favourite really local spot of mine.
This lane is only about 10 minutes from my house, but I really like the arch of the trees. The snow combined with the remaining autumnal leaves and the perfectly placed puddle all worked out rather nicely. This is a spot I pass regularly on the dog walk, but this stretch of trees never fails to bring a smile to my face. The smile is just that bit wider when there’s snow though.
In other news, my book ‘Dartmoor Unedited’ is now out in the wild. Thanks to everyone who has ordered a copy, I really hope you enjoy them. Its also now available in the following local stockists:
